Folio II — Atelier
Keiichiro began cutting hair in Tokyo in the late nineteen-eighties, in a basement near Shibuya where the rule was to look at the head for a full minute before lifting the comb. He moved to London in 2002 carrying a roll of scissors and a particular idea: that the salon should belong to the stylist, not the other way around. Twenty-two years later, on a stretch of Regent's Canal at Haggerston, that idea is a room.
K Hair Studio opened in 2024 as a counter-proposal to the high-street salon. No upsell, no script. A single chair, a wide window, time enough to look properly before the first cut.
Keiichiro's editorial work has appeared in Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Grazia and the campaigns of houses he prefers not to list. He continues to take a small number of private clients each week between Tuesday and Saturday.
